Badger Bash

We took the girls to the Badger Bash on Sunday. Grandma Dar, Grandpa Ed, and Lata were along too to help celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary...wow 35 years...that's a long time! Anyway, it was at the Waisman Center in Madison and they had crafts for the kids. Here the girls are decorating their instruments with crayons. Bucky Badger was there....there would be no pictures because the girls wanted nothing to do with him. Molly went into panic mode and had to walk about 100 feet away with Chris. I tried to reassure her that Bucky only talks to little girls that are wearing red and white~so she was fine because she was wearing blue~it seemed to help a little, but she still wasn't sure. Then about 6 members of the UW Marching Band arrived and played '5th Quarter' music for us. Molly went into overdrive at that point and needed to be far away from the music with her fingers in her ears. I cannot figure out this kid....she claims to be afraid of loud noises...parades were terrifying last summer (but never before last summer) and then today's live music sent her into a fit of tears...however the hair dryer right next to her ear doesn't bother her and you should hear her holler...how can her own noise not bother her...sorry, I digressed...

The rest of us enjoyed it!

Lacey even took the opportunity to decorate Morgan's instrument when she wasn't looking.

To Molly's delight we left Bucky Badger and the Band and went over to Picnic Point and took a walk. It was a beautiful day!

The girls enjoyed throwing rocks into the water. They took their shoes and socks off to walk into the water a little....brrrr...still very cold this time of year..but allowed them to throw rocks a little closer to the water. When we were trying to wash their feet off Taylor took off running into the water~seriously, I have no idea what she was thinking, but she got her pants soaked and then she was pretty cold...duh!
What a fun day!
