Celebrating 14!

Time to celebrate Morgan!
We headed to Devil's Lake early on Friday morning.  Most of us had not been up that early in a long time!  But everyone was excited to have plans and get to leave the house.

When we arrived we found this guidance....

Lunch~Subway always tastes better when it's eaten at the beach.

The patient is doing well out of the water.

This Little Piggy Stayed home

During yearly check-ups Molly discussed her toe with her doctor and she suggested Molly get x-rays.  We headed to podiatry and they suggested surgery to straighten the toe.

So here is Molly pre-surgery at Children's Hospital.  Unfortunately her surgery was delayed by three hours so it was a long day waiting.

After finally waking up from anesthesia and getting her pain under control Molly has a fabulous new shoe for the next three weeks.

Three days post-op we went to the clinic to have it unwrapped and we were both surprised to see the little white ball on the end of the pin sticking out of her toe!  Surgeon was happy and so is she!

Pandemic Hobbies

Morgan is still working on baking.  This masterpiece was a joint effort between Morgan and Grandma Dar~they were working with fondant.
It was delicious!

Stand Up and Dance in the Rain

The pandemic news has temporarily been interrupted by another police brutality incident.  Good and bad resulted.  Good = many people were upset by unfair treatment of others based on the color of ones skin.  Many people chose to not only talk but listen to stories of prejudice and racism that still perpetuate our society.  The term institutional racism has become common~the idea that policies and practices that look good on the surface can accidentally or not so accidentally perpetuate racism.

Bad = protests around the country including in downtown Madison that started off peaceful turned into violent chaos on more than one night.  There were several nights of looting, burning, and destroying of public and private property in the name of change.

Waunakee is not immune to this challenge.  In our local news, several teenage boys were caught on video using slurs and during a recent election an anonymous letter to the editor suggested that 'your kind' is not welcome in our town.  Many in our town want to be a positive change and this wall mural is an attempt to encourage discussion.

We were due for some rain.  It came down in buckets!  Morgan and Lacey had a good time playing in it.
