The day before Thanksgiving...white Wednesday?...I did some shopping with the girls. On our adventures through the mall we ran into Santa Claus! All four of the girls were willing to visit with him and Lacey was right up there on his lap. Santa asked the girls what they wanted for Christmas and the girls were pretty speechless so Santa suggested that they make him some lists...he's so wise!
When we returned home Morgan decided to make a list for Santa. On her list was a pink shirt, a purple shirt, a purple bear, and pink bear. Then she sealed it in an evelope. I suggested she put the envelope under her pillow so she would know where it was when we returned to the mall to visit with Santa again. Later, she scampered off to her room and returned with the envelope. She had decided that Santa might want to know where to find what was on her list. So she wanted to know how to spell JC Penney!
On Thanksgiving we spent time with some of Chris's cousins and their kids. The naked turkey waiting to go in the fryer tickled my funny bone and his eventual dissent into the "hot tub" elicited ooohs and aaahs from the crowd.
Dinner was at Grandma Dar's and Grandpa Ed's house.
We had spent lots of time in daycare talking about turkeys over the past few weeks...one story in particular had a repetitive, "Run, Turkey, Run!" verse. We sang songs about turkeys and discussed that the turkey needed to run because the farmer was chasing him. Despite all those 'lessons' Lacey was a little surprised when she saw the turkey.
No worries, I don't think she's going vegetarian.
Lacey is thankful for her mommy.
Morgan is thankful for turkey.
Molly is thankful for mommy.
Taylor is thankful for Lacey.
Happy Thanksgiving!
