Eyes
One of my daycare kiddos keeps telling my girls (taylor and molly mostly~he's got a bit of a crush I think....) that they have 'blueberry eyes'.

Open House
We had Open House at Eastside last night.
Here' Taylor at her 2nd grade desk....there was a scavenger hunt for us to do around the room. The first thing was to look at their clean desks *check*, then we had to guess which apple Taylor had made looking at the word clues that they had chosen for themselves~I guessed right...it had Magic School Bus on it! *check* then we looked at their apple graphs~Taylor's favorite is still yellow delicious and she made a great line graph *check*
She was very proud to show us around!
Then we went to Molly's room. This is her Kindergarten table. She looks a tad bit proud don't ya think!
Then she showed us around her room. She let her sisters play with the magnets. Her favorite place to play in the room is the dramatic play area (shocking~I know!) We stayed clear of it for the night because Lacey likes to 'taste' all the pretend food.
Then we went to the art room. They have a new art teacher this year...she was very nice.
Their home away from home......happy open house!

where woof?
Lacey has started popping out two word sentences and it is cracking me up!
"Bye ma-ma" and "Bye da-da" "Hi ma-ma" and "Hi da-da" Have been around for a bit, but last night we were watching the neighbor outside with his dog and they went in the garage for a minute so we couldn't see them~ she turned to me and said, "Where woof?" It was in two separate breaths and probably only understandable by me but it was adorable.
She, of course, loved my reaction of smile and laughter so she kept saying it over and over. Then today it was, "Where woof?" "Where da-da?" I laugh every time!
I got a new camera today and was able to capture it on video....
Love her little voice....when it's not yelling at me that is .................

Labor Day
We spent Labor Day at Devil's Lake in Baraboo. I used to go there often with my family when I was growing up but I figured it has been at least 8 years since I had been there....BK (before kids) ; )
The last time I was there Chris and I had been on a date and he let me take him out in the canoe....my hunky husband cannot swim so this was not a comfortable position to be in....but he was willing to trust me...silly guy! I decided then he was probably a keeper....
Anyway, back to today...the kids were excited to see the lake and the 'beach'. The beach was more rocks than sand~ouch to walk on! But the kids were throwing rocks in the water within minutes of arriving. Lacey is going to throw it reeeeeeally far!
Grandma Dar and Grandpa Ed brought along this little raft. Morgan loved the oars! She spent a good amount of time just floating around with or without a passenger. Lacey was OK for a little awhile and then headed back to the beach.
Molly was a busy girl. She dug a hole and then had fun filling it up with water. She's standing in her hard work.
Aunt Heidi started to collect big rocks from under the water and bringing them to shore to make a pile. Not so entertaining for adults~extremely entertaining for 7 year-olds!
It was a very fun day. The weather was awesome! We did not do any hiking but promised the kids we would come back soon...which is good because Taylor 'hid' that big rock so she can find it when we come back....

1st Day of School~2009
Molly and I had shopped for her 1st day of school outfit almost a month ago so she was very excited to get up and get dressed for the first day of school. Backpack was packed and smile was on....let's go!
Took some pictures in the front yard.
And then walked to the bus stop.....sad to see them walking away from me *sigh*
1st day of school picture. I took a picture with all four girls but Lacey and Morgan look so pissed that I chose not to post it.....Morgan was VERY unhappy that she was not riding the bus and going to school too...despite my argument that someone needed to stay home and play with mommy~she was not a happy girl. The second day she kept asking when the girls were coming home...when does the bus come back...poor lost girl ; (
The bus driver, Miss Angel, pulled up and both girls were exited to board. Taylor promised me that she would get Molly to the playground....tough being the big sister. Taylor and Molly sat next to Jameson (the boy that lives a house down from us...aka 'the boyfriend') and waved to me through the window. *tear *tear

At School
I switched cars with Grandma Sue who was kind enough to take Morgan and Lacey for the morning so I could focus on my 'big' girls. So I parked and went to the find the girls.
Somewhere on this playground of 600 children........I found them ; )

I walked with Molly to her classroom, she put her backpack and sweatshirt in her cubby and then went to her seat. At her seat, we found this shirt...so Molly happily put it on.
She seemed a bit nervous so I asked her what flavor of icecream she wanted at the picnic. She chose vanilla/chocolate swirl. So I told her that I had to go buy that and I would meet her at the park after school. She seemed OK with that...bye-bye babe!

After School
I waited patiently for the bus and crossed my fingers....it's always an adventure waiting for the bus. Ever since Taylor's 1st day of Kindergarten when she didn't return on the bus I always worry...but they all did return today with happy faces.
We planned a picnic and icecream cone party with some of the neighbors since it was such a gorgeous day and this being year 3 it's becoming tradition!

Molly wasn't thrilled about the bus. She said the corners were too fast. She just got used to riding in a booster seat in the van because she didn't like not having a harness over her shoulders so I'm sure having no seatbelt at all on the bus was unnerving for her.

I guess someone messed up and there were too many kids on the rabbit bus for the ride home. So they decided to pull the kids that get off at my kids' bus stop and put them on the seal bus.....Molly did not like that at all...I guess she was crying.. : (
She didn't want to get off the rabbit bus and I'm guessing she was also worried about being separated from Taylor...I asked Taylor afterwards what she said to Molly and she said, "We'll be home soon." It took 50 minutes from the time the bell rang until they got home...that's a long time on your first full day of school. She has been happy but exhausted and ready for bed by 7:30~yipee!
Overall, a good start to the school year!
