4+2+K=Back to School

Today was the first day of school and the weather was more like July 1st than September 1st.

Taylor is in 4th grade this year.

Her favorite thing about today was seeing her teacher; Mrs. Statz.

As usual, she was up and ready for school with smiles.

Molly is in 2nd grade this year. 

Her teacher is Miss Herrmann.

Her favorite thing about today was seeing her friends.



Morgan is in Kindergarten this year.

Her teacher is Mrs. Dugan.

She was very excited today and very ready to go to school.  Her favorite thing about today was riding the bus, eating yellow fishy crackers, reading The Kissing Hand, and playing on the playground...and the first day was only 1/2 a day...I can't wait to hear about her first full day!

I met them at school and found them on the playground.  The girls put their backpacks in their lines and went off to play.  Morgan's backpack is almost as big as she is!

Taylor was very helpful.  She mother-hen'd Morgan most of the morning getting ready and it continued out the door, on the bus, off the bus, and on the playground.  She was not happy when she found out that I was going to get to go into the school with Morgan and she had to go line up in her 4th grade line...geez!  But on the flip-side it is reassuring to know that Morgan has help (whether she wants it or not)

Morgan walked into school like she owned the place.  She hung up her backpack and found her square on the carpet. I was lucky to get a good-bye.

Lacey and I went to visit with other new parents over coffee and muffins and then went and had breakfast with some very fun ladies. 

Then we went home and had a little 'Lacey and mommy' time.  She looked a little forelorn this morning as she waved good-bye to all of her sisters.  Tea parties make everything better!

After school, we joined cousin Brookelyn (also starting Kindergarten) and aunt Heidi for some lunch and playland time.

We toasted to a new school year with icecream......
