It was very early, and it was very cloudy when we met Grandpa Ed for some fishing.
The girls liked the fish radar. The little monitor shows how deep the water is and if there are any fish near by. They were very excited when they spotted some.
Then Grandpa found the longest fishing pole he owns....
and gave it to the littlest lady.
And it worked! Lacey caught the first fish of the day...and she was pretty excited!!!!!
The all-star of the day however was Morgan. She caught six!
Well, she hooked six and reeled in three. After Grandpa got a little too close with the third fish, she decided that she didn't really need to see the fish a.l.l. the way into the boat. But if you ask her, she caught six!
Molly caught a few.
Including a walleye. Again with the 'little too close, Grandpa'.
The Walleye had to be measured and was not a keeper, so back to the lake he went.
Then we looked him up in the fish reference book...fresh water drummond for you non-fishers.
Taylor was a pro. She can really cast...better than her momma at times...which to no surprise~delighted her funny bone.
Lacey's attention span lasted one fish, and two donuts. Then Grandpa gave her a 'job'.
She was given egg shells to toss in the water to lure fish towards the boat.
She sprinkled and they came.
We finished the morning with a fast boat ride.
Really fast.
And though the day started out drippy and droppy the day ended with a pretty sunset.
