We drove to Rockford to be close to the airport and to minimize a few of my first time on an airplane concerns...like missing my flight! (fear)
A very nice man met us in the parking lot and helped us with our bags while Chris parked the car. Flights were departing for Cancun and Orlando...but once he got a peek at the little ladies he knew we were headed to Disney! (Someday Cancun...someday)
One little blip at security...they accidently printed two tickets for Chris and not one for Taylor so they had to go back to check-in and reprint.
No alarms during security and the girls received official security stickers.
We walked around the airport for a bit and watched them load our luggage.
We got seated and I was almost literally stuck to my seat. The passenger before me had been kind enough to leave their gum all over the seatbelt. A flight attendant brought some wipes and we made a little 'Band-Aid" with paper towel.
Lacey was not quite sure of the airplane ride. She chose to sit by the window but also chose to keep it closed most of the time. She was holding on pretty tight to my arm during take-off and especially when we landed. I read books during both to distract. (I was not a fan of the landing either..thanks Fancy Nancy for helping us take our minds off of the tummy dropping)
Morgan did really well. A tangle of nerves the night before she settled into a quiet calm for the plane ride.
Taylor and Molly did really well. I heard lots of 'cools' 'that's awesome' and 'look at that'.
We found our luggage without any problems and got our car rental. Though Lacey was a bit disappointed that the car was not pink.
Next adventure was figuring out the car. A little drama with figuring out the windows for all the tolls. The tailgater behind me (my brother) did not realize that the speed limit was only 55 for most of our ride. I pulled into one coin only toll and had to quickly scramble for 4 quarters. The GPS had the coordinates slightly off for our house but when technology fails you, use common sense and we arrived!
The girls were excited to get their new pajamas and sleep in their new beds.
