Recital Time

Molly finished another year of dance class.  As a second year she learned both ballet and tap this year.

Monday was rehearsal day!

This was Donna's 55th...that's right...55th...dance recital!  So to say she has it down to a science would be an insult....it's darn near perfect!  The problem is usually the parents, especially us mommies, that want to be there 'helping'...but somehow despite all of us she and her little elves get the girls where they are supposed to be when they are supposed to be there.

The night of the program I set Molly up on her blanket...so she's not sitting on the dirty floor...and a few new coloring books along with her bouquet of flowers that she can carry on stage for the final curtain call.

Tap was their first performance.  Those skirts were ridiculous!!!  I had to pull it in at least an inch on both sides with my non-skilled sewing fingers....it stayed up...that was the goal!

Molly is second in from the left.  I love the ribbons in the tap shoes...so cute!

Molly's performances were great!  For how shy she is.....we have a running joke between Ms. Davis and her that Molly has never actually spoken to her in the past two years that she has been taking dance.  Ms. Davis is also an assistant at Molly's school and she won't speak to her there either.....she will nod yes or no, but will not speak.  But my point is...she is shy...so it amazes me how much she enjoys the recitals.  She walk onto the stage with 250 people staring at her and not only remembers her routine but manages to smile as well!  She was performance 7 and 17 this year.  There were about 25 performances and the show lasted about an hour and 15 minutes.

After the recital, she received some fresh flowers and we took some pictures.

So proud of you Molly!
