Lacey is a little fish. Safe in her lifejacket and ring she was good to go...kicking those little legs and paddeling those little arms was so cute. Morgan is not as comfortable in the water and her death grip on your neck will leave marks!
Molly took the plunge and decided to put her head under water. Not brave enough to leave the side of the pool and venture very far...she enjoyed her time on the stairs holding her breath and having me count how long she could stay under the water.
The girls didn't get to bed until after 10:30 that first night which is very late for my 8:00 sleepers. Chris figured out how to get the TV to work only to have the tornado symbol be posted at the bottom of the screen. Great...I'm in a trailer in a tornado watch....G-R-E-A-T!
The storm blew through about 2 am and wasn't too bad. At 3:30 am little feet found their way out of their bunk beds to the futon I was sharing with Morgan. Four bodies on the maybe full size futon was a little tight....so much for sleeping!
On Friday morning we headed to the waterpark.
You can see it off to the right in the picture above.
This is the kiddie water park. The depth is 8 inches at its deepest point. So the kids feel safe and the moms and dads get to relax a little ....ahhh!
So Morgan was a happier girl.
Molly was going down slides.
Lacey was playing in the fountains.
Taylor was playing with the beachball.....THE BEACHBALL!
Minutes after this picture was taken the beachball bumped my camera into the water. This resulted in THE DAUGHTER being removed from the water. The camera did not make it. Thankfully the memory card did.
The daughter did too......
We headed back to the 'lodge' for some nap time. Daddy and the little girls napped while mommy and the big girls hit Tangor shopping mall!
Friday night we headed to our friends' campsite and we had some dinner. Then we headed back to the pool only to be asked to leave due to some inclement weather. So we hid in our lodge for awhile watching Princess and the Frog. About 9:00 I headed back out with the three oldest to watch Yogi cartoons at the amphitheater and then we went on a singing hayride around the campgrounds.
Another night of 10:30 bedtimes!
But thanfully everyone stayed in their own beds!
Saturday morning we headed back to Waunakee for an Adler family reunion. Molly serenaded us with the Yogi songs that she learned on the hayride the night before most of the 45 mintue ride. We visited with aunts, uncles, and cousins. Always nice to see everybody!
As we headed back up to the Dells I bought a new camera....were you missing the pictures?
That evening we headed back to our friends' campsite to celebrate their daughters birthday. In honor, Yogi Bear and Cindy Bear visited.
Lacey was very brave.
To my surprise, Molly agreed to give Cindy Bear '10'.
Taylor needed some 'back-up'. Morgan wanted nothing to do with them. She is off hiding with Grandma Sue. Many times over the three days Morgan would start a converstion regarding the 'bears'. "Where does Yogi Bear sleep?' "Is Boo-Boo going to be on the hayride?'
You could tell it made her a little anxious!
After the birthday party festivities we headed back to the water!
The hot tub was a favorite! Taylor is sporting the bubble beard!
After the pool, we roasted marshmallows for s'mores!
The kids with full bellies headed into the camper to watch a movie while the adults enjoyed the campfire atmosphere and some beverages. Lacey snuggeled on my lap. We finally had a night with a clear sky so we spotted the bright shiny moon and looked for 'twinkle twinkle stars'. Lacey nodded off shortly after that.
We used flashlights to lead us back to our lodge around 11:30pm and tucked out sleepy children into bed.
By Sunday morning we were all moving a little slower. We packed up and checkout out and then.....you guessed it...headed to the water park!
A little slow getting in the water.
And a little less splashy.
But still plenty of attitude.
Awesome start to summer!
